The Seventh Sister

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Clementine Ward is the middle sister of seven girls whose childhood was wrought with trauma and fear.

When she receives an ominous letter, she is summoned back to Beltane where she must once again face the horrors they endured and question the folk legend of Daudir, the Forgotten Forest God whom they revered in their youth.

This book sort of reminded me of a fucked up folk horror version of A Series of Unfortunate Events. While certain parts stuck with me, I admit that I found my interest wavering at times.

Overall, I’d recommend this book for anyone fascinated by feral children and ancient folk legends, and I mean that in the best way.
