Make Me Better
By Sarah Gailey

Having suffered with infertility and grief, Celia visits a cult-like community on the tiny island of Kindred Cove during the Salt Festival where she chases the promise of a practice that will change her life.
Told with radically nonlinear timelines jumping between several different perspectives, I found the first half to be slow moving and difficult for me to engage with.
Once the foundation had been set, the wealth of context it brought culminated into a robust, horrifying and rewarding story that was totally worth the slow burn.
