Silver Nitrate
By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Montserrat and her best friend, Tristan, find themselves entangled in the trappings of a cult and a cursed film reel. While they navigate supernatural forces, curses, and sorcery, they also struggle to navigate the intricacies of their own complicated personal relationship.
While “Silver Nitrate” has an interesting premise, the compelling elements are ultimately drowned by it’s own convoluted storytelling.
The story slogs along at a punishingly grueling pace. The prose prattles on with exhaustive detail. Twists were predictable and thus underwhelming.
Overall, “Silver Nitrate” missed the mark for me.
